Makoto (Mita Makoto, 三田睦) is a student and potentially dynamic antagonist in sweet pool.
Makoto is introduced to the player early on and is found to be Youji's crutch as the older student finds his feet again after such a long absence.
Makoto adores food and leisure activities. He presents himself as approachable, fun-loving and social: a social butterfly, if you will.
Personality[]
Makoto is very excitable and eccentric. While acting as the cool guy on campus, he shows a side to only Youji that speaks volumes if analyzed. He seems very anxious and in need of approval, especially from his older, held back peer.
Childish and playful, he often gets in trouble with his homeroom teacher for little things like eating in class and not tucking his shirt in. This can easily be seen as laid back or careless. By nature, he seems to be a very friendly, caring boy with his heart in the right place, though he proves very susceptible to jealousy, greed and possessiveness.
Relationships[]
Sakiyama Youji - Considering Youji to be his best friend, Makoto in truth knows little about him. There is a closeness he craves to Youji that remains just out of reach due to the older student's reclusive nature. Expressing concern for Youji's health and wellbeing, Makoto develops something of an obsession that evolves into something toxic as time progresses.
Shironuma Tetsuo - It is made clear very early on that Makoto's opinion of Tetsuo is not a high one. Always on his guard or talking behind the other's back, Makoto deems Tetsuo a threat and dampter to his and Youji's friendship. Rumors involving Tetsuo are often circulated about him through Makoto and other students, Makoto taking great pleasure in participating in said gossip.
Okinaga Zenya - Makoto, like many other students, dislikes Zenya. Their relationship is hardly involved and the two never truly interact with one another during the story, though both mention one another at different points. Makoto adores gossip about Zenya's personal business and private affairs and enjoys talking poorly of him and his driver, Kitani. Despite the meanness of his words, nothing ever comes of it and when it all boils down to it Makoto doesn't seem to hold any genuine ill will towards him, simply a fear of the unknown and an aversion to him just like everyone else.
